Peter Karbe – The art of Leica lenses ENGLISH

Peter Karbe is a photo engineer, trained photographer and has worked as an optical designer at Leica for over 30 years. Many Leica lenses that have been developed over the last three decades also bear his signature.

Each lens has its very own character, just like the many people who have worked on it. Peter Karbe is representative of this « unquantifiable human factor » at Leica. Together with his colleagues from Optics Development, he drives the evolution of the lenses. They create the basis for manufacturing new lenses from a unique combination of high technology and craftsmanship.

In his presentation, he will explain how the M lenses have been improved over the years and how the Leica SL lens line was conceived.
